11/11 make a wish! My wish is for more prebiotic sodas ❤️✨ oh look, wish granted!
I wasn’t searching for many interesting snacks last month, but I’m almost always buying a little bev. They’re always tempting me right at the front of the store, and $1.99 is so cheap, right? It’s one of the smallest prices. Holistic sodas=the new avocado toast, AKA what they’re going to blame the next housing crisis on.
Poppi Wild Berry
$1.99 – Brooklyn, NY
We're on a date at a fancy restaurant, the waiter comes to take our drink orders, I order a glass of Gatorade…The House Blue
–Danny Barbati
This is the blue raspberry soda of your dreams. It was exactly what I wanted. I generally prefer the flavor of Olipop to Poppi, but this one tastes like a real, full-sugar soda to me. It’s sweet and sour, just like a blue raspberry Dum-Dum. This is also one of the flavors Poppi makes a tall boy can of, which rocks to me. Let’s put more prebiotic sodas in Monster cans. oh my god I just remembered I broke this wine glass and spilled the soda on my rug and had to clean up soda and glass shards from my rug … .. …………….. ok
Austin Eastciders Hatch Green Chile Hard Cider
$? I didn’t check – Brooklyn, NY
This is what life is all about…weird ciders. Although I’ve never drank the juice out of a can of roasted hatch green chiles, sipping on this seems like a similar experience. Not in a bad way. It’s slightly sweet, slightly spicy, a good dry cider. I’m a sucker for a gimmick like this, but that’s also why I’ve had a can of Orange Creamsicle cider in my fridge for a year among other discarded ciders/seltzers. Weirdly one of these ciders made my face so red? But I’ll have to experiment again. btw my next goal is to finally find a pickle flavored cider or seltzer like the Lit Pickle or Grillos x Two Robbers 🤞
Granny Squibb’s Cranberry Iced Tea
$1.99 – Marshfield, MA
“Granny Squibb’s Charlie's Cranberry is kind of a Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse situation” –Danny
Last night we let the Granny Squibb’s talk… yeah, for sure, I only bought this because I thought the name was funny. Question: why was it so hard for me to find a kombucha in a small coastal town? CVS, Walgreens, and 7/11 were all ‘buchaless. I know it’s to be expected in the suburbs, but I thought the coastal elite lived differently. I suppose this is what Trump’s America 2.0 is going to look like. Our gut microbiomes barren. 5 Diet Cokes a day, no fiber. So, my review of Granny Squibb: it was tart and refreshing on a hot October car ride with no A/C, not a huge fan of the added mint flavoring.
